Join over 1,000 emergency medicine professionals from across the globe at the Annual Conference 2026, taking place in Birmingham on 28–30 April, as we come together to shape the future of the specialty. With a four-track program covering CPD and research, and up to 17 CPD points available, this is an unmissable event. Preview some of the standout sessions below
Injectable therapies for weight loss—the good, the bad, and the ugly (Day 1, Tuesday 28 April)
Over 2 million prescriptions for GLP1-based therapies have been issued in the UK in 2025. While these are effective therapies for weight loss, they also come with significant side effects and are not suitable for all. This talk will explore the potential benefits as well as the undesirable consequences when used injudiciously.”

SPEAR: Advancing life support beyond the algorithm (Day 2, Wednesday 29 April)
“UK OHCA survival remains a shockingly poor statistic, with less than 8% of patients surviving cardiac arrest. A new approach is needed with a change from a ‘one size fits all’ approach to one that delivers precision resuscitation to the sickest patients in the most critical condition.”

The ED Waits study: a look at waiting times in Emergency Departments and health inequalities (Day 3, Thursday 30 April)
“Poor patients wait longer in the ED—but maybe it’s not the staff’s fault.”

Alongside a diverse program of sessions tailored to all career stages, we’re also offering plenty of onsite activities designed to enhance your experience, encourage connection with fellow attendees, and give you time to focus on your well-being.
