Agilent Announces Board Chair Retirement and Appoints Glenn Boehnlein to Board of Directors

Agilent Technologies Announces Board Leadership Transition and Appointment of Glenn Boehnlein

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) has announced a series of leadership changes to its board of directors, marking an important transition in the company’s governance structure. Koh Boon Hwee, Agilent’s independent chair of the board, retired from the board effective September 4, 2026, after more than 20 years of service. At the same time, the company appointed Dow R. Wilson as its new independent chair and welcomed Glenn Boehnlein as a new member of the board.

The changes represent a planned evolution of Agilent’s board leadership while maintaining continuity in the company’s strategic oversight. With extensive experience across healthcare, medical technology, finance, corporate governance and international business, the incoming leadership is expected to support Agilent as it continues to pursue long-term growth and innovation.

Koh Boon Hwee Retires After More Than Two Decades of Service

Koh Boon Hwee joined Agilent’s board of directors in 2003 and went on to become independent chair in 2017. During his more than two decades with the company, he played a significant role in guiding Agilent through various stages of corporate development, strategic decision-making and leadership transitions.

In addition to serving as independent chair, Koh chaired both the Board’s Executive Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. These responsibilities placed him at the center of important governance and strategic discussions, helping the company maintain effective oversight while adapting to changes across the global technology and healthcare markets.

Koh brought substantial international leadership experience to Agilent’s board, including extensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region. His background in corporate leadership and public-company governance provided an important perspective as Agilent expanded its global operations and continued to develop its portfolio of analytical and laboratory technologies.

Agilent recognized Koh’s long-standing contribution to the company and his role in helping guide the organization through significant strategic developments.

“On behalf of the board and Agilent, I want to thank Boon Hwee for his exceptional leadership, counsel and commitment to the company over more than two decades of service,” said Padraig McDonnell, president and CEO of Agilent.

McDonnell highlighted Koh’s steady judgment, global perspective and understanding of Agilent’s history and future opportunities. He also emphasized Koh’s contribution during leadership transitions, including the transition of McDonnell into the CEO position.

“His steady judgment, global perspective and appreciation for both Agilent’s heritage and its potential have helped guide the company through important strategic decisions and leadership transitions,” McDonnell said. “On a personal level, I am deeply grateful for the support and perspective he provided as I transitioned into the CEO role. We wish him all the best in retirement.”

Koh’s retirement brings to a close a significant period of board service for Agilent. His tenure included years of transformation in the analytical laboratory, diagnostics and life sciences technology industries, as companies increasingly adopted advanced technologies to support research, pharmaceutical development, environmental testing and other applications.

Dow R. Wilson Named Board Chair

Following Koh’s retirement, Agilent’s board elected Dow R. Wilson to serve as chair, effective September 4, 2026.

Wilson has served on Agilent’s board since 2018 and brings substantial leadership experience to his new role. Prior to becoming chair, he served as chair of Agilent’s Audit and Finance Committee, giving him extensive exposure to the company’s financial operations, corporate strategy and risk oversight.

The board believes Wilson’s familiarity with Agilent, combined with his governance and leadership background, will provide continuity as the company moves forward. His existing experience as a board member also means that the transition can take place without requiring him to become familiar with Agilent’s operations and strategic priorities from the beginning.

The appointment is expected to support continued oversight of Agilent’s long-term strategy and financial objectives. Board continuity can be particularly important for global technology and life sciences companies operating in rapidly evolving markets, where investment decisions, innovation strategies and customer needs can change significantly over time.

Wilson’s appointment therefore represents both a leadership transition and an effort to maintain consistency in Agilent’s governance approach.

Glenn Boehnlein Joins Agilent’s Board

In addition to the chair transition, Agilent announced the appointment of Glenn Boehnlein to its board of directors, also effective September 4, 2026.

Boehnlein brings more than two decades of experience in the medical technology industry, including extensive financial leadership responsibilities at Stryker Corporation. He spent 22 years at Stryker, one of the world’s major medical technology companies, and served as vice president and chief financial officer from 2016 until his retirement from the role in 2025.

During his career at Stryker, Boehnlein held a range of senior finance positions across the organization. Earlier in his tenure, he served in finance leadership roles supporting the company’s MedSurg and Neurotechnology Group as well as its Endoscopy Division.

As CFO, Boehnlein was responsible for leading Stryker’s global finance organization. His responsibilities expanded in 2020 to include information technology, giving him additional experience at the intersection of finance, technology and business operations.

His background is expected to add valuable expertise to Agilent’s board, particularly as the company continues to operate at the intersection of analytical instrumentation, laboratory technology, life sciences and healthcare.

Before joining Stryker, Boehnlein served as chief financial officer of MyPrimeTime. He also worked as a partner and certified public accountant at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he developed additional experience in accounting and financial management.

His current board experience further strengthens his governance credentials. Boehnlein serves on the boards of directors of Inogen Inc. and Sutter Health, providing him with continued exposure to corporate governance and healthcare-related organizations.

Boehnlein holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accountancy from Mississippi State University.

Financial and Healthcare Expertise to Strengthen the Board

Agilent said Boehnlein’s appointment will broaden the expertise represented on its board. His combination of financial leadership, medical technology knowledge and public-company board experience provides a background that aligns with several important areas of Agilent’s business.

“Glenn’s extensive financial leadership experience, deep knowledge of the medical technology sector and public-company board experience will further strengthen the range of expertise represented on our board,” McDonnell said.

He added that Agilent expects Boehnlein to contribute insights as the company executes its strategy and works to create long-term value for shareholders.

For a company operating across scientific research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical development, environmental analysis and other laboratory markets, board-level experience in healthcare technology can provide valuable perspective. Medical technology companies and laboratory technology providers increasingly rely on advanced instrumentation, digital technologies, data management and operational efficiency to address evolving customer requirements.

Boehnlein’s experience managing finance and information technology at a large global medical technology organization could therefore complement the existing expertise of Agilent’s directors.

Boehnlein Expresses Support for Agilent’s Strategy

Boehnlein said he was honored to join Agilent’s board and expressed confidence in the company’s reputation and capabilities.

“I am honored to join Agilent’s board of directors,” Boehnlein said. “Agilent has a strong reputation for innovation, operational excellence and customer focus. I look forward to working with the board and management team to support the company’s strategy and long-term success.”

His comments underscore the importance of innovation and customer relationships in business. The company develops analytical instruments, software and services used by customers across a broad range of industries and scientific applications.

The addition of a director with significant medical technology and financial experience comes as continues to focus on executing its strategic priorities and delivering sustainable value to customers and shareholders.

A New Phase of Board Leadership

The simultaneous retirement of Koh, appointment of Wilson as chair and addition of Boehnlein to the board represent a meaningful change in governance structure.

Koh leaves the board after more than 20 years of service, including nearly a decade as independent chair. His departure marks the end of a long period of leadership and institutional knowledge. Wilson, meanwhile, provides continuity through his eight years of service on the board and his previous role leading the Audit and Finance Committee.

Boehnlein’s appointment adds new expertise in financial management, medical technology, information technology and corporate governance. Together, these changes are designed to balance continuity with the introduction of additional experience.

Agilent’s board will continue to oversee the company’s long-term strategy, financial direction, governance practices and management performance. The leadership transition also reflects the company’s broader effort to maintain a board with diverse and complementary expertise capable of supporting its growth in global markets.

As Agilent advances its strategy, the combination of experienced directors and new perspectives is expected to help the company navigate changes in the laboratory, life sciences and healthcare technology sectors. The company’s latest board decisions reinforce its focus on effective governance, strategic execution and long-term value creation.

With Wilson assuming the chair role and Boehnlein joining the board, enters the next stage of its corporate leadership with a combination of established institutional knowledge and fresh industry expertise. Meanwhile, Koh’s retirement concludes a distinguished period of service that helped shape the company’s governance and strategic direction over more than two decades.
