JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel Fillers Important Information
APPROVED USES
- JUVÉDERM® VOLUX® XC is for deep injection to improve moderate to severe loss of jawline definition in adults over the age of 21.
- JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC is for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss and for augmentation of the chin region to improve the chin profile in adults over 21.
- JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC are for injection into facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, in adults over 21.
- JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is also for injection into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation in adults over 21.
- JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines and for injection into the undereye hollows to improve their appearance in adults over 21.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Contraindications:
- Do not use JUVÉDERM® products if you have a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, are allergic to lidocaine or the Gram-positive bacterial proteins used in these products, or have had previous allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid fillers.
Warnings:
- There is a small risk of unintentional injection into a blood vessel, which can cause serious complications like vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring. If you experience vision changes, stroke symptoms, or unusual pain during or after treatment, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
- Postpone treatment if you have skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infections, as these may delay healing or worsen skin problems.
- The effectiveness of filler removal has not been studied.
Precautions:
- Only trained doctors should inject JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC into undereye hollows. Visit Juvederm.com/find-a-specialist for more information.
- The safety of these products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding has not been studied.
- The safety of JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA® XC has not been studied in patients under 35 or over 65 for cheek augmentation, or under 22 and over 80 for chin augmentation. The safety of JUVÉDERM® VOLUX® XC, JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE® XC, and JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC has not been studied in patients under 22, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC and JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC have not been studied in patients under 18.
- The safety and effectiveness of treatment with JUVÉDERM® products in unapproved anatomical regions have not been established.
- Patients with a history of excessive scarring or pigmentation disorders may experience additional scars or pigmentation changes.
- If planning other procedures like laser treatments or chemical peels, there is a risk of inflammation at the treatment site.
- Inform your doctor if you are on medications that reduce your immune response or prolong bleeding, as these may increase the risk of infection, bruising, or bleeding.
Post-Treatment Care:
- Avoid makeup for 12 hours after treatment and minimize strenuous exercise, sun exposure, and alcohol within the first 24 hours to prevent temporary redness, swelling, and itching at the injection site.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects include redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, discoloration, and itching, with dryness also reported for JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA® XC. These typically resolve within 30 days, but persistent side effects may require treatment.
