Starting December 1, 2024, Labcorp, a leader in comprehensive laboratory services, will be the exclusive national laboratory for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama’s Preferred Medical Laboratory (PML) Program and the sole Preferred Medical Laboratory Plus (PMLP) provider in the outpatient lab network. Labcorp and other contracted Preferred Medical Laboratories will offer covered lab services at in-network benefit levels.
This partnership aims to enhance the laboratory experience for both members and physicians, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering high-quality, cost-effective care that improves patient health.
With over 1,900 employees in Alabama and a centrally located laboratory in Birmingham, Labcorp will provide statewide access to a wide range of routine, specialty, and STAT laboratory testing services, along with advanced patient solutions and programs.
