Hinge Health and Midi Health have announced a partnership aimed at addressing the significant healthcare gap for women undergoing menopause. This collaboration merges Hinge Health’s expertise in movement-based support for menopause with Midi Health’s virtual care clinic, targeting the broad spectrum of symptoms associated with midlife hormonal changes. The decline in estrogen during menopause can exacerbate musculoskeletal and pelvic health issues, leading to joint, muscle, and pelvic pain. Despite this, 71% of women experiencing menopause report joint and muscle pain, which is often overlooked and inadequately treated by traditional medical care. A recent review from the University of Central Florida School of Medicine underscores the need to address musculoskeletal symptoms in menopause, introducing the term “musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause” to enhance awareness.
“Hinge Health added menopause support to our program earlier this year because movement-based therapies effectively alleviate menopause-related pain and discomfort,” said Arielle Slam, Principal Product Manager, Women’s Health at Hinge Health. “Our partnership with Midi Health will provide our members with additional evidence-based options, including hormonal and non-hormonal medications. This collaboration will offer a comprehensive care experience for women with a range of menopause symptoms, including the often-overlooked musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause.”
“Teaming up with Hinge Health enables us to broaden our reach and deliver comprehensive, personalized care to more women navigating menopause,” said Joanna Strober, CEO and Co-founder of Midi Health. “By integrating our strengths, we can ensure that women receive holistic support tailored to their needs, whether through movement-based therapies, hormone therapy, or a combination of both.”
For Hinge Health members who are in-network with Midi Health, menopause support will include access to Midi Health’s personalized treatment protocols, featuring consultations with experts in menopause care. Hinge Health care teams will also ensure that members are informed about all available menopause care options, including those offered by Midi Health.
