International Gynecologic Cancer Society( IGCS) expands gynecologic oncology fellowships for bettered access to cervical cancer treatment services

To mark the alternate anniversary of the Global Strategy to exclude cervical cancer, the International Gynecologic Cancer Society( IGCS) blazoned the launch of its newest Global Class and Mentorship Program in Malawi.
The advertisement comes one month after a meeting of gynecologic oncology societies and stakeholders, including WHO’s Clinical Expert for Cervical Cancer Elimination, Prof Groesbeck Parham. Hosted by the Charité Department of Gynecology, the meeting concentrated on openings to strengthen capacity for cervical cancer treatment and operation.

As part of the program, Dr Lameck Chinula becomes Malawi’s first IGCS Fellow under the mentorship ofProf. Parham and Dr Michael Hicks of Women’s Oncology Care for Africa( WOCA). He joins 27 graduated IGCS fellows and 42 fellows presently enrolled in the program, who are driving comprehensive approaches to cervical cancer forestallment and control across 17 countries.
