Supergut Expands Nationwide at Target Amid Sales Surge

Supergut, the first clinically validated nutrition brand for gut health, is now available at Target stores across the U.S. and online at Target.com. The brand’s exclusive Target lineup features its range of prebiotic superfoods, including award-winning Bars, all-in-one Shakes, and the popular GLP-1 Booster, an unflavored powdered fiber blend designed to enhance gut health when mixed into food or drinks. Priced at $29.99, these products are part of Target’s wellness offerings, addressing the growing consumer interest in gut health as a key component of overall well-being.

Supergut’s expansion to Target marks a significant step as the brand continues to lead in the gut health and GLP-1 nutrition space. Since early 2024, Supergut’s sales have more than tripled, and the brand’s presence has grown to include retailers such as GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe, Fresh Thyme, Lunds & Byerlys, Gelson’s, Fruitful Yield, Bristol Farms, Central Market, and Erewhon. Customers can also find Supergut products on Supergut.com and Amazon.

Marc Washington, Founder and CEO of Supergut, created the brand in honor of his late sister, who suffered from metabolic diseases, with a mission to empower people to take control of their health. “Partnering with Target helps us bring our delicious, gut-healthy superfoods to more people, with over 75% of the U.S. population living within 10 miles of a Target store,” said Washington.

The Science Behind Supergut

In 2023, Supergut became the first gut health brand to undergo gold-standard, placebo-controlled clinical validation. The peer-reviewed study, published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, showed that daily use of Supergut products can significantly improve weight management, blood sugar levels, digestion, energy, immunity, and sleep.

Supergut’s patented blend of prebiotic fibers, including resistant starch and beta-glucan, has been shown to be more effective for weight loss than other fibers. These fibers nourish beneficial gut microbes, naturally boosting the production of GLP-1, a hormone that helps reduce hunger and improve insulin response. This approach mimics the effects of popular weight loss drugs like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Monjauro®, and Zepbound™, but without the side effects associated with these medications, which include semaglutide and tirzepatide.

A survey conducted in April 2024 with over 1,300 Supergut customers found that 78% of those using GLP-1 medications reported that Supergut helped curb cravings and support weight management. Additionally, people who consumed Supergut while on a GLP-1 drug were four times less likely to experience severe gastrointestinal side effects, such as nausea or constipation.

Supergut’s Rapid Growth

Over the past year, Supergut’s sales have soared, driven by its unique position in the gut health and weight management market. The brand offers a natural alternative for boosting GLP-1 through nutrition instead of medication, supports digestive health, and provides a sustainable option for those transitioning off GLP-1 medications.

As demand for weight management solutions grows, many retailers, from big-box stores to boutique grocers, are looking for healthier product options. With projections from Morgan Stanley suggesting that the consumption of sugar-laden and hyper-processed foods could decline by up to 3% by 2035, Supergut’s expansion reflects a shift towards gut health and sustainable wellness solutions.
