Teleflex Appoints Sean M. Salmon to Board of Directors

Teleflex Appoints Sean M. Salmon to Board of Directors to Support Strategic Growth

Teleflex Incorporated, a global provider of medical technologies, has announced the appointment of Sean M. Salmon to its Board of Directors, effective September 8, 2026. The appointment brings an experienced medical technology and pharmaceutical industry executive to Teleflex’s leadership team as the company continues to focus on strategic transformation, operational performance, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation for shareholders.

Salmon joins the Teleflex Board with more than three decades of leadership experience spanning the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. His career includes more than 20 years at Medtronic plc, where he held a series of senior executive positions overseeing large and complex businesses across cardiovascular and other healthcare markets.

His extensive experience in business strategy, operational execution, portfolio management, capital allocation, and global commercialization is expected to complement the capabilities of Teleflex’s existing Board. The company said his background will be particularly relevant as Teleflex continues to execute its strategic priorities and identify opportunities to strengthen growth and profitability.

More Than 30 Years of Healthcare Industry Experience

Salmon brings a broad range of experience gained through leadership positions in major healthcare businesses. His professional career has included responsibilities across medical devices, pharmaceutical-related markets, cardiovascular technologies, diabetes, and other specialized healthcare segments.

A significant portion of his career was spent at Medtronic, where he worked for more than two decades. During that period, he progressed through multiple leadership roles and gained experience managing businesses operating in highly competitive and technologically advanced healthcare markets.

Most recently, Salmon served as Executive Vice President and President of Medtronic’s Cardiovascular Portfolio. The portfolio represented a major global business with approximately $12.5 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue. In this role, he was instrumental in developing the business’s growth strategy while overseeing a broad portfolio of cardiovascular technologies and operations.

His leadership responsibilities required balancing long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution. Managing a business of this scale also provided experience in areas such as resource allocation, innovation, commercial strategy, organizational performance, and portfolio prioritization.

Before leading the Cardiovascular Portfolio, Salmon held senior positions across several Medtronic businesses, including Diabetes, Coronary and Structural Heart, and Coronary and Renal Denervation. These roles exposed him to multiple areas of medical technology and gave him experience managing businesses with different technologies, customer groups, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.

His experience across these businesses is expected to provide Teleflex with an additional perspective on portfolio management and the development of strategies designed to deliver sustainable performance.

Board Leadership Experience

In addition to his new role at Teleflex, Salmon currently serves as an independent director of Adagio Medical Holdings, Inc. His experience as a board member provides an additional dimension to his background, combining operational leadership with corporate governance responsibilities.

The appointment to Teleflex’s Board reflects the company’s continued emphasis on strengthening its governance structure and ensuring that directors possess relevant experience aligned with the organization’s strategic needs.

Teleflex said that Salmon’s expertise in capital allocation, portfolio strategy, and operational execution will complement the experience of the existing Board. His background managing large-scale healthcare businesses is also expected to provide valuable insight as the company evaluates growth opportunities and works to improve operational performance.

Leadership Perspective From Teleflex

Andrew A. Krakauer, Chairman of the Teleflex Board of Directors, welcomed Salmon to the Board and highlighted his extensive experience as a healthcare industry executive.

According to Krakauer, Salmon has established a strong record of driving growth and profitability across large and complex medical technology businesses. His experience in capital allocation and portfolio strategy is expected to strengthen the Board’s ability to support Teleflex’s management team as it advances the company’s strategic objectives.

Krakauer also emphasized Salmon’s operational experience, noting that his perspective should be particularly valuable as Teleflex continues its transformation and focuses on creating durable performance and shareholder value.

The appointment therefore represents more than an expansion of the Board’s membership. It also adds an executive with direct experience managing global healthcare businesses and developing strategies aimed at improving both growth and profitability.

Teleflex Continues Board Refreshment

Salmon’s appointment is also part of Teleflex’s broader approach to Board refreshment and corporate governance. Following his appointment, the company said that one-third of its Board will have been refreshed during 2026 alone.

The Teleflex Board now consists of nine directors, including eight independent directors. The composition reflects the company’s focus on maintaining a strong level of independent oversight while adding new expertise that can contribute to strategic decision-making.

Board refreshment can provide companies with opportunities to introduce new perspectives, experiences, and areas of expertise while maintaining institutional knowledge through continuing directors. For Teleflex, the addition of Salmon comes at a time when the company is continuing to implement strategic initiatives designed to strengthen its business and improve long-term performance.

His appointment is expected to add another layer of industry expertise to the Board, particularly in areas involving medical technology, portfolio strategy, business transformation, and operational management.

Appointment to Growth and Operating Committee

In addition to joining Teleflex’s Board of Directors, Salmon will serve on the company’s Growth and Operating Committee. The committee was established earlier in 2026 to support management as Teleflex continues executing its strategic transformation.

The committee’s responsibilities include supporting efforts to strengthen operational execution, identify opportunities for growth, and improve accountability across the organization.

Salmon’s background makes his appointment to the committee particularly relevant. His previous executive responsibilities included leading a large global medical technology portfolio and developing strategies intended to support business expansion and profitability. His experience could therefore contribute to the committee’s work as it evaluates growth opportunities and operational priorities.

The committee’s role reflects Teleflex’s emphasis on translating strategic priorities into measurable operational outcomes. Strengthening execution is particularly important for companies operating across global healthcare markets, where product development, regulatory requirements, manufacturing capabilities, commercial execution, and customer relationships must work together effectively.

Strategic Transformation Remains a Key Priority

Teleflex’s decision to add Salmon to both its Board and the Growth and Operating Committee comes as the company continues its strategic transformation. The organization is focused on strengthening its operations while identifying opportunities to expand its business and create sustainable value.

Operational execution is an important component of this strategy. Effective execution can help organizations improve productivity, manage costs, allocate resources more effectively, and ensure that strategic investments are directed toward areas with attractive growth potential.

Portfolio strategy is another important area where Salmon’s experience could be relevant. His career at Medtronic involved leadership across multiple healthcare businesses and technologies, providing exposure to decisions involving business priorities, investment, innovation, and market opportunities.

Capital allocation is similarly important for a global medical technology company. Decisions regarding investments in research and development, manufacturing, commercial infrastructure, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives can have significant implications for long-term performance. Salmon’s experience in this area is expected to strengthen the Board’s ability to evaluate such decisions.

Experience Across Cardiovascular and Other Medical Technology Markets

Salmon’s extensive background in cardiovascular technologies is particularly relevant to the broader medical technology industry. His previous leadership of Medtronic’s Cardiovascular Portfolio involved oversight of a business generating approximately $12.5 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue.

His earlier responsibilities across Coronary and Structural Heart and Coronary and Renal Denervation further broadened his understanding of cardiovascular care and medical technology markets. He also held leadership responsibilities within Medtronic’s Diabetes business, giving him experience beyond cardiovascular technologies.

This combination of experience across different therapeutic and technology areas provides Salmon with a broad perspective on healthcare innovation and commercialization.

For Teleflex, which operates across multiple areas of medical technology, such experience can contribute to discussions involving market development, product portfolios, customer needs, competitive positioning, and operational performance.

Supporting Long-Term Shareholder Value

The addition of Salmon is ultimately intended to support Teleflex’s broader objective of delivering durable performance and creating long-term value for shareholders. By adding an experienced healthcare executive to the Board and its Growth and Operating Committee, Teleflex is strengthening its leadership resources as it pursues its strategic priorities.

The company will continue to rely on its Board and management team to evaluate growth opportunities, improve operational execution, and maintain accountability throughout the organization. Salmon’s experience managing large global healthcare businesses is expected to provide an additional perspective as these initiatives move forward.

With nine directors, eight of whom are independent, Teleflex’s Board combines a high degree of independent representation with a range of industry and business experience. The refreshment of one-third of the Board during 2026 also demonstrates the company’s ongoing focus on governance evolution.

Sean M. Salmon’s appointment to the Teleflex Board marks another step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its leadership structure and support its ongoing transformation. Effective September 8, 2026, he will contribute more than three decades of healthcare industry experience, including more than 20 years in senior leadership roles at Medtronic.

His background in cardiovascular technologies, diabetes, business strategy, capital allocation, portfolio management, and operational execution is expected to complement Teleflex’s existing Board expertise. His simultaneous appointment to the Growth and Operating Committee will allow him to contribute directly to initiatives focused on improving execution, identifying growth opportunities, and enhancing accountability.

As Teleflex advances its strategic priorities, the company expects the addition of Salmon to provide valuable industry insight and leadership perspective. The appointment, combined with the Board’s broader refreshment during 2026, reinforces Teleflex’s commitment to strong governance, strategic execution, operational improvement, and sustainable long-term value creation.
