She completed her undergraduate education at Washington and Lee University, where she earned degrees in both Biology and Spanish. During her undergraduate years, she was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society, reflecting her early commitment to pursuing a career in medicine.
Her academic background in biology provided a foundation in the sciences relevant to medicine, while her Spanish degree adds a language and communication dimension to her educational experience.
Dr. Vessa subsequently earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. During medical school, she received the John M. Gibbons Award, which supported her attendance at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting.
